While many radiofrequency (RF) devices treat the skin from the outside in, INFINI uses flow needle technology to deliver the current to the dermis (the deeper level of the skin where collagen grows), and not to the epidermis (the outer layer).
While traditional micro-needling — the technique of using tiny sterilized needles on the skin — does not incorporate a light or energy device, the INFINI hand piece contains 49 microscopic needles that conduct this targeted (fractional) RF energy into the depths of the dermis and precise areas being treated.
The RF heat energy creates multiple mini-coagulation zones at the dermal layer, causing precise and specific injuries that in turn encourage collagen re-growth and tissue tightening.
The most common area to treat is the face, however the neck and décolletage respond well to INFINI. Lax skin on the arms, stretch marks, acne and trauma can be successfully treated as well. Because INFINI works deep under the skin, it is also safe and effective for all skin types.
INFINI treatments take about one hour and can be uncomfortable, which is why we apply a topical numbing cream prior to the procedure (please allow one hour for numbing). Side effects are mild, and downtime is minimal. In most cases after treatment, skin will appear red and slightly swollen (like a wind or sunburn) for 24 to 36 hours and feel rough like sandpaper for two to three days. Many patients can resume their normal routine within a day.
Noticeable improvements are seen around six weeks after the procedure, though some report positive changes as soon as a week later.
The number of treatments required depends on your goals and the overall condition of your skin. Typically, two to four sessions spaced a month apart will achieve the desired results.
